PRIVE at JFW 2025: The Interconnection Between Fashion and Interior Design

Creating a collection, whether it’s for fashion or interior design, is an art of blending vision, creativity, and meticulous planning. Fashion and interior designers start with the same fundamental process such as ideas, selecting materials, experimenting with textures, and working within defined spaces. But what makes the connection between fashion and interior design deeper than just the design process? It’s how both fields come together to tell a story, shape identity, and set trends.

Fashion Trends as the Backbone of Interior Design

Fashion trends are often shaped by economic, social, and cultural shifts, but what many people don’t realize is that interior design trends frequently follow in the footsteps of fashion. Fashion weeks around the world, including the prestigious Jakarta Fashion Week, are a stage where the latest trends are born trends that soon trickle down to influence the design of our living spaces.

Whether it’s a specific pattern or a groundbreaking combination of materials, interior designers often draw inspiration from the runways. As fashion is more dynamic and impulsive, it can reveal what consumers want not only in their wardrobes but also in their homes. By embracing these trends, interior designers can create spaces that resonate with people’s evolving tastes and lifestyles.

The Art of Designing: Fashion Meets Furniture

Designing a fashion collection is not so different from designing a home interior. Both require an eye for color, texture, and pattern. Just as fashion is about combining elements to create a unique, cohesive look, interior design involves mixing textures, colors, and forms to build an environment that reflects personal style.

In fashion, it’s about curating outfits that empower individuals to feel confident and express their true selves. Similarly, interior design is about creating spaces that evoke comfort, safety, and personal identity. A home is like a second skin—it’s the place where we feel most ourselves. And just as fashion allows us to evolve personally, the way we design our homes helps us express our growth and values.

We were thrilled to collaborate with Himpunan Desainer Interior Indonesia (HDII) at Jakarta Fashion Week 2025. Held from October 21 to 27, 2024, at Pondok Indah Mall 3, PRIVE served as the exclusive furniture partner of HDII, contributing to the event’s aesthetic with 31 carefully curated pieces of Italian-inspired modern contemporary furniture.

The theme for this year’s Jakarta Fashion Week, “Future Fusion: Tradition Meets Innovation,” perfectly aligned with PRIVE’s designs.

As part of this collaboration, PRIVE furnished key event spaces, including common areas, VIP lounges, and the Press Conference room, elevating the overall atmosphere of the venue. Each piece selected for the installations showcased the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with modern, innovative design, creating a bold statement in the world of both fashion and interior design.
